Singapore

I’ve not updated my blog in more than 24 hours and its because I’m in Singapore. I’ve not been to Singapore for a few years now and I must admit I’m reminded of how good shopping is here compared to KL…the variety, range and brands are so much wider. Cheaper, I dont know, but electronics are pretty good value compared to KL.

Food wise, I, as of today have experienced good food in Singapore, contrary to what I had always believed…This being a super short trip, there were only 2 highlights…

Is this the best chicken rice in singapore? Hmm...good, but prolly not the Best...not especially the best in SINGAPORE AND JB! ala Phua Chu Kang

Situated on the 30 something floor of Meritus Mandarin Orchard Road, this is Chatterbox restaurant. No, it does not revolve, much to my childish hopes

The eager beavers waiting for the famed chicken rice. Situated on the top floor of Meritus Mandarin Orchard Road (30 something-th floor), this is Chatterbox restaurant. No, the restaurant does not revolve, much to my childish hopes

Sizeable amount of chicken which is quite tasty...soup is forgettable, but the sauces are delish. Rice very well done.

And what are we without the trials of japanese cuisine in Singapore? Pan Pac’s Keyaki was the highlight meal of the trip. Did not take all pics of the meal, just what I could sneak.

To die for. Chef Joseph's specialty...he made specially for us...Kobe Beef + caviar in Red Wine Sauce. Tender, JUICY!

To die for. Chef Joseph's specialty, which he made with such relish for us. Kobe beef + black caviar in red wine sauce. But the secret ingredient? Pepsi.

Chef Joseph is (im proud to say) Malaysian from JB, and Ive noticed how many talented malaysians there are in Singapore. Joseph did his stint in Japan before working here, and cultivated his own secret recipes here. Apparently, there are usually heaps of ppl on Friday, Sats and Suns if Joseph is around. He’s got such a great and humble personality.

This garlic fried rice was i swear the best ive had. Dare i say it, gasp....even better than Coco's in Melbourne Crown. Why? Haha, we know the secret recipe...

Keyaki restaurant is in Pan Pacific (Suntec) and is on the 4th floor. It is surrounded by a Koi fish pond, japanese garden and alittle wooden gazebo outside. This is me looking like a tomato after like 4 itty bitty glasses of sake.

Me and the famous Sake Bear at the entrace walkway to the restaurant. I thought it was a Panda...
